Seven Celebrity Superstitions (Do You Share Any of These?)

1. Jennifer Aniston

Naturally, this instantly recognizable actress travels often – whether to a new film shoot, award shows, or more intimate getaways. Regardless of her destination, whenever she is about to step from the boarding ramp into a plane, Jennifer says she simply must always enter with her right foot first. She also has to tap the outside of the plane, or she’ll be nervous about making it to her destination!

2. Rainn Wilson

Rainn learned that his superstition carries a lot of weight – sometimes literally. Long ago, this formally trained actor was advised that no one should ever mention the name “Macbeth” inside a theater. When he forgot this superstition and uttered the word, a heavy light fell from the ceiling and crushed his foot!

3. Oprah Winfrey

Oprah once told a guest that honoring the spiritual realm in a certain way is a must – whenever Oprah enters or leaves her gorgeous yard, she must say, “Hello trees!” Now, that’s a lot of greetings for a busy celebrity – her estate in the elegant Monticello area of Santa Barbara covers roughly 42 acres.

 4. James McAvoy

Millions start out each New Year with a vow, vision or offering to bring good luck. But James McAvoy’s superstition requires monthly effort. On the first day of each and every month, James simply must say 'White Rabbit' to the first person he sees. Why? He claims that his grandmother taught him that it's good luck to say it, and he’s honored grandma’s advice ever since.

5. Matthew McConahey

Tough-as-nails Matthew, who has been an auto company spokesman in recent years, has several superstitions. He doesn’t feel comfortable in revolving doors, and he just can’t deal with don't those pesky blind spots when driving – especially the ones that leave him in the dark when heading into tunnels. “You know, that spot where you can't see for about ten feet. You can't see what's in front of you or if someone's broken down or something in front of you."

6. Star Jones

This successful star just may be onto something. She believes that to keep abundance flowing, a lady should never place her purse on a floor. As the saying goes, “Don’t put your purse on the floor, or you’ll go broke.” It can’t hurt to try – leave yours on a chair, in your lap, or in your desk and see whether your bank account begins to grow.

7. Heidi Klum

Ever notice those pearly whites on Heidi Klum? They’re never very far from their beginnings, especially when this German-born supermodel and famous host of Project Runway travels. Among her carry on items, Heidi includes her baby teeth, hidden in a small pouch. It brought a big laugh once, too – when she accidentally dropped them beneath her airplane seat. When an attendant asked the gorgeous celeb if she needed anything, she told him that she was just looking for her teeth!
